Treatments
On your initial visit, we would like to spend some time getting to know you and your previous dental history. The visit will include a detailed examination of your teeth and oral tissues. A full set x-ray will be advised if required.
Dr Tony loves to take time with his patients, listen to their concerns, and carefully evaluate your immediate and future needs during each detailed examination. He will explain to you your treatment options and inform you of additional preventative care of your teeth and gums.
We provide all aspects of general dentistry, from treatments as simple as fillings, extractions and root canal, to innovative ways of replacing missing teeth with dental implants that look and feel like natural teeth.
At Dentist at Care, regular visits every six months are recommended to maintain healthy teeth and prevent future complicated dental problems.

Many procedures are simple and can be completed in only one or two visits. Cosmetic dentistry can also be utilised as an alternative to metal braces, which may be considered uncomfortable or embarrassing.
We look forward to hearing about the new experiences your beautiful smile has brought into your life.
At Dentist at Care, we understand that a bad first dental experience can lead to emotional stress and the fear of returning. Offering children a fun and memorable dental experience is what we are all about.
With over 20 years of experience in treating children, Dr Tony enjoys educating children on how to take good care of their own teeth. He provides early intervention to control childhood teeth and jaw problems. With early prevention, a child can avoid complicated orthodontic treatment in the future.
We recommend that children should start routine visits to the dentist from three years of age. This establishes dentistry as a normal and pleasant part of your child’s life. Earlier visits may be necessary if parents notice something abnormal.
Children should attend regular checkups every six months, to monitor their development and to establish good oral hygiene habits. It is important to note that decay progresses faster in children’s teeth because they are softer and the pulp or nerve spaces are proportionally larger and closer to the surface.
We recommend that parents take advantage of the preventive dentistry measures listed below. Please take the time to teach your child to brush their teeth properly, and assist your child in flossing their teeth until they are old enough to manage themselves. During your visit, Dr Tony will explain the most effective preventative care for your child’s teeth and gums.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatment from dentists has proven necessary in early age to maintain optimal oral health. It is recommended for use with children as early as three years old for a head start on good dental health. Fluoride will cover the tooth surface and enhance the ability to resist acid attacks, hypersensitivity and decay.
Fissure Sealant
Like Fluoride, sealants are strongly recommended for good oral health in children. A sealant is a clear plastic coating is applied to the deep fissure of the cavity-prone grooves of the back teeth to protect against decay.
Sealants are most beneficial when applied as soon as the first permanent molars erupt, around 6 to 7 years of age, and between 11 and 14 years, as soon as the second molars erupt. However, it is never too late to apply sealants, as long as the teeth are free of decay and fillings.
How do we apply sealants?
This is a painless procedure that takes only a few minutes. The tooth will be washed and dried to allow the sealant material to bond effectively. Then, the sealant material is painted on and hardened by using a high-intensity blue light.
Extraction of baby teeth
Baby teeth are your child’s first, impermanent set of teeth, which usually become loose and fall out naturally. However, there are two cases where extraction of baby teeth is necessary:
- When your child’s permanent tooth has surfaced and the continued presence of the baby tooth has forced the permanent tooth to surface in another location, usually in front of or behind the baby tooth. This happens commonly in the front region of the lower jaw.
- When a loose baby tooth is causing pain. This may be because the loose tooth is very decayed or because the tooth has an abscess or infection beneath it.
Sedation
Dentist at Care employs these methods for sedation during extensive dental procedures
Nitrous Oxide, or “Happy Gas” makes you feel relaxed and cheerful, and allows you to be totally conscious throughout your dental procedure. Nitrous Oxide is a very light and safe anti-anxiety treatment suited to shorter dental procedures where discomfort would otherwise be experienced. Although very effective, Nitrous Oxide has no post-treatment effects, and you will be able to drive and resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
